Front page design

We have used our now finished logos to create a matching front cover. I have used indesign to create and example of what the front page could look like. My cover is unfinished as it has not been defined what my production  team are featuring on the front cover as well as the stories that need to be included in the piece.
This is the page that i have created with an unspecific photo but the title and colour i think complement each other and my logo. I have also used the small print just like magazines do to display the date and issue number also the new sticker has been added for effect,

Group logo created with illustrator

For the progress of our newspaper assignment we have created a team logo. my team name is S.P.C productions and this is my development of the my example of the team logo:
First of all in illistrator we changed fonts and the space developments this means that the space between letters and the stretched hight and length can be altered to suit the shape and the fit into the desired logo.
To develop this further i added possible colours and also the shapes so that the possible logos are formed and these are the logos i created by changing the font i saw the colours and shape that  i wanted.

After this i chose my favourite choice and decided to change the colours so that the design is altered but instead of keeping the colour changes i decided i liked the original the best as this suited my groups name and purpose.

The finished logo came when i changed the colours to red which mad the logo as corporate.

Kate moross piece : changing the colours

With illstrator we can replace colour instantly using a simple tool like this one:
This tool has a spread where you can drag and drop the colours you wish to replace but also in the right hand corner you can select the colour packet which has certain themes  by selecting these themes the colours will be matched and the closest will replace the original.
Here is my original:
This shows the colours that have already been used to will also show there replacement colours now my original used art pop colour to dim this down we can use the colour selection of ancient .

This has changed the colours much darker and more bland then the pop art that are designed to stand out this gives a less attractive result. So I tried again this time instead I choose to select the darker colours this put an interesting spin on the  image shown in the picture below.
I changed my image one last time this time to the swatch ice cream this has bright my soft tones which has a retro feel of bright but still dim heres how its replaced the colour with the pinks and browns usually seen on ice cream trucks.

Kate Moross Style cv

I have used illistrator to create a personal cv in the style of Kate Moross who uses typography to make art work. To start i did an image in sketch outlining the things that are most important to me after this it was scanned into the computer the faint lines do not work in illistrator so we used photoshop to sharpen the lines and from this we were able to work with it. Once we have opened illistrator we added the colour to our traced lines making the pictures and typography pop. This style of work is fun to do and makes you think about what you like.

She has her own studio called studio moross which is purely for music based projects. One of her most common videos are for Jesse Ware. \
Converse poster
I like her art its bold and playful with a pattern design this is bold and unusual the comical styled writting reminds me of doodles and it youthful.

She has done many magazine covers and commercials for famous brands such as Nike and converse.

To complete her work she does the pencil outline of her work gathering the compact the darkens the overall outline carries this into illistrator and drops the colour into the work making it the bright designs she's known for.

New and improved page layout

This is my original copy it had mismatched colours and fonts and also appeared quite flat. The images also did not sit right in the given boxes also the story titles also appeared flat.
I changed my faults by changing the images and image sizes to sit correctly in the box. I also added colour to the story titles that matches the new matching red of the boxes. The two headlines now match fonts and subheadings. The new layout is more vivid and colourful allowing it to pop and stand this  hopefully means it will attract an audience.

Layout for the south downs newspaper

This one of my layout which has a high impact due to the stand out colours. I have also used my typography to make my headlines stand out with a minimalist design which does not get you sidetracked from the articles themselves.
This is my practise layout for the college newspaper it is brighter with more graphic elements and images than the last one. I used the pencil tool to create a title that is clear and fun. There is no special fronts this does make it dull to improve this page i could add more colours.

making avatars

Using your selected image and open it within photoshop firstly try using adjustments to replace colour selecting the needed skin tones create the blue skin if this does not work use the paint bucket tool on a new layer and blend it into the background photo.
On a new layer use liquifys plucker tool to pull the eyes out of the image forming avatar eyes.
To make the eyes yellow make a new layer with 2 circles over the eyes and using the paint bucket make them yellow after doing this try fading the colour into the eyes.
To add the white use the paint brush first soft strokes to create the skin  tones and over the tone use harsh brush then blend them into the skin.
To finish the avatar feel of you can insert the hair although mine was hard due to the angle of the face and the hair.

selecting and replacing colours

Using photoshop i have used adjustments to make my image black and white then selecting the colour brush and painting the selected features but also staying within the lines as photoshop has selected the feature allowing you to colour as neatly as possible.

changing and replacing colours

before:
 After:

using the replace colour tool i have selected the areas I wanted to change and selected a colour. The correct dropper tool helped us selected the obvious colours such as the background but others helped select more features such as the dress and her skin.

Photoshop duplicating

photoshop is often used to place items in or take items out of an image they do this using the duplicate feature this allows you to select while hold alt and move to the desired location and the slowly unveil the rest of the image this is shown by the face behind the black or just moving the eyes without the whole face using a smaller brush.

Using photoshop adjustments

I have used tools in photoshop changing the levels. brightness , exposure and many more to see how it will help the presentation of an photograph to improve and adjust. using levels to change the effects of each colour and the photo filters to see the image in many ways i have choosen that these as the best examples.

collums and structure

In this part of the lesson we have used ipsum text to create a normal layout we placed this in the text box then to create thaw collums and used the insert image and wrap selection.

graphic text

I have learnt to place text in graphic design using the indesign program I have used three different examples such at plain text boxes writing in a shape and using the selected writing on a line tool have created the curved line text by taking away the line seems like its free standing.

graphic shapes

I have created various shapes using the shape tool in in design I have filed them with many colours and have also graduated these colours across the shape. I have also changed the anchor points within the shape creating many different shapes.

Creating lines

I have created straight and curvy lines with the software program of in design i have done this to develop my skills using the program . I have also learnt to colour and change weight and type of my lines.
